11 Years of Presence and Work in Defense of Human Rights
11 Years of Presence and Work in Defense of Human Rights
On September 9, 2015, at nine in the morning, a new phase began in the journey of the Belgian International Organization for Human Rights and Development – BAMRO, through the renewal of its digital presence and the development of its websites and platforms across the internet and social media — to serve as a window for communication, a platform for spreading a culture of human rights, and a voice defending the wronged and the victims.
On September 9, 2026, the eleventh anniversary of this step in BAMRO's journey arrives — eleven years of presence and rights-based work, during which the organization has carried a clear message grounded in respect for human dignity, defense of fundamental rights and freedoms, and commitment to international human rights principles and conventions.
Over these years, the methods of work and communication have evolved, and platforms and technologies have changed — yet the principles from which BAMRO set out have remained constant; the human being, with their dignity and rights, was and remains at the heart of its mission.
On this occasion, BAMRO renews its pledge to continue its journey in accordance with the international human rights approach, to uphold the principles of justice, freedom, and human dignity, and to work toward bringing the voices of victims and the wronged to national and international institutions and forums, while contributing to spreading a culture of human rights and strengthening respect for international law and relevant international conventions.
Eleven years have passed, and the journey continues, and the message remains one: defending humanity, safeguarding its rights, and protecting its dignity.
